Following Musk's remarks on Twitter, the Truth Social app gained users and returned to the top spot among free iOS applications in the Apple App Store on April 30. The value of DWAC shares also increased.

Following Musk's announcement of his ambition to acquire Twitter, the share price of DWAC decreased.

Devin Nunes, CEO of Truth Social, subsequently claimed that Trump had persuaded Musk to purchase Twitter.

Musk has refuted this, claiming "That is untrue. Trump has officially declared that he will only be on Truth Social, thus I have had no direct or indirect contact with him ". Musk then said that, if his bid for the firm is successful, he plans to lift Twitter's prohibition on Trump's Twitter account. Following Musk's remarks, Nunes reaffirmed Trump's commitment to Truth Social and his decision to stay away from Twitter, even if his ban were removed.
